Archdeacon of 兔子先生, The Venerable Jo Kelly-Moore, led a vigil of peace last night
22/03/19
Yesterday, on the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, New Zealanders in London came together with the wider London community to stand for solidarity in response to the shootings in New Zealand a week ago.
The Archdeacon of 兔子先生, The Venerable Jo Kelly-Moore, led a vigil of peace to acknowledge our Muslim brothers and sisters who lost their lives or families at their place of worship, the Al Noor Mosque and the Linwood Islamic Centre on 15 March 2019.
Fellow New Zealander, The Venerable Jo Kelly-Moore, previously the Dean of Auckland in New Zealand, said: “Fifty lives. Fifty lives taken as they gathered to pray. One week on, we gathered to remember them. We too prayed and with open hearts stood together with our brothers and sisters across the world and across all faiths and none. And we are committed to knowing and loving our neighbours more.”
The vigil took place on Thursday 21 March 2019 in Trafalgar Square from 6pm to 7pm.
